‘’DANCEmocracy’’: The Workshop is an online dance workshop led by ATOM Theater (Bulgaria). During the 2-hour-session the participants the participants will research the subject of inequalities and approach their own stories through movement. THE EVENT Democracy stands for political and social equality. However, 2020 is showing us that many of the "democratic" structures are no longer working and it’s time for us to shape a new world together. With DANCEmocracy (workshop & performance) we want to use dance and movement to shape the "new normal" and speak up about what no longer serves us. The 2-hour-workshop will challenge the participants to engage with the subject of ‘’inequality’’ in all its various forms and share their stories around it. The performance on the 29.10 will show these stories in a YouTube Premiere, presenting various dancers from Eastern Europe and Berlin and having ATOM Theater from Bulgaria as a special guest.

THE FACILITATOR ATOM THEATER is a company based in Sofia /Bulgaria/, working in the field of contemporary dance. It was founded in 2011 and its main goal is to explore the social, cultural and educational environment, to study the processes in society and the relations between people through the unlimited possibilities of movement and dance. ATOM’s projects are closely related to concrete spaces, architecture, design and history.

*** ‘’DANCEmocracy’’ Tanzworkshop ist ein zweistündiger online Workshop. Er fordert die Teilnehmer*innen auf, sich mit dem Thema Ungerechtigkeit in all ihrer Formen durch Tanz und Bewegung auseinanderzusetzen.
DIE VERANSTALTUNG Demokratie steht für politische und soziale Gleichheit. 2020 hat uns jedoch gezeigt dass viele der “demokratischen” Strukturen, in denen wir bisher gelebt haben, nicht mehr funktionieren und es höchste Zeit ist, gemeinsam diese umzugestalten. Mit DANCEmocracy wollen wir durch Tanz die "neue Normalität" formen. Der zweistündige Workshop fordert die Teilnehmer*innen auf, sich mit dem Thema Ungerechtigkeiten in all ihrer Formen durch Tanz und Bewegung auseinanderzusetzen. Bei der Tanzperformance, die im Anschluss stattfindet, werden die dabei entstandenen Tanzstücke, sowie Szenen aus dem Kreativprozess der Tänzer*innen in Video-Form gezeigt.
ATOM THEATER ATOM THEATRE ist ein in Bulgarien ansässiges Tanzkollektiv, welches im Bereich des zeitgenössischen Tanzes und der ortsspezifischen Aufführung tätig ist und bereits an einer Reihe internationalen Projekten teilgenommen hat. Die Gruppe wurde 2011 gegründet und hat das Hauptziel, im sozialen, kulturellen und pädagogischen Umfeld zu „graben“, um Prozesse in der Gesellschaft und die Beziehungen zwischen Menschen zu untersuchen und sie in den Projekten umzusetzen.
