Rassismus in der Kulturszene - Podiumsdiskussion im Rahmen der Internationalen Wochen gegen Rassismus mit Ricardo Bacallao (Filmregisseur) und José Carlos Mayorga (Gründer von ARTivisten e.V.) (dt./engl.)

Koloniale Bilder und rassistische Mythen pflanz(t)en sich durch die Medien-und Kulturlandschaft fort. Der Filmregisseur Ricardo Bacallao widersetzt sich dieser Perspektive. Mit "The-Maji-Maji-Readings" (2006) hat er Personen wie Ekpenyong Ani, Philippa Ébené, und Grada Kilomba über ihre Erfahrungen mit Alltagsrassismus und deutsche Popkultur sprechen lassen. Auch die Arbeit von ARTivisten e.V. schafft eine widerständige Praxis gegen rassistische Deutungen.
In der Podiumsdiskussion mit Filmscreening wird der Blick auf Rassismus in der Kulturszene geschärft und diskutiert, wie diesem begegnet werden kann.

Die Veranstaltung wird durch die Partnerschaft für Demokratie Schöneweide organisiert. Die Partnerschaften für Demokratie werden im Rahmen des Bundesprogramms "Demokratie leben!" durch das BMFSFJ gefördert. Die Inhalte stellen keine Meinungsäußerung des BMFSFJ oder des BAFzA dar.

Racism in the cultural scene - panel discussion in the context of the International Weeks against Racism with Ricardo Bacallao (film director) and José Carlos Mayorga (founder of ARTivisten e.V.)Colonial images and racist myths perpetuate themselves through the media and cultural landscape. The film director Ricardo Bacallao opposes this perspective. In "The-Maji-Maji-Readings" (2006), he has interviewed people such as Ekpenyong Ani, Philippa Ébené, and Grada Kilomba talk about their experiences with everyday racism and German pop culture. The work of ARTivisten e.V. also creates a resistant practice against racist interpretations.
In the panel discussion with film screening the view on racism in the cultural scene will be sharpened and discussed how it can be countered.
